I’ve been keeping a secret…

And trust me, it hasn’t been an easy one to keep to myself.
This November, Zach and I are expecting a sweet new addition to our household ❤️
I’m currently 23 weeks pregnant. I’ve been dying to share this with you. I’ve kept everything to myself mostly out of sheer anxiety (even at 23 weeks I feel so grateful to be here but still worry, a lot), so forgive me that it took me so long to share this sweet news with you.

I’ve also been sick. Compared to a lot of morning sickness stories I’ve heard, I honestly think I’ve been pretty lucky, but I had non-stop nausea from 5-15 weeks and some serious food aversions. When you’re a food blogger, that can be a little bit problematic (not to mention not being able to taste-test cookie dough anymore, thank goodness for edible cookie dough!).
Zach and my mom have been lifesavers, helping me with recipe testing and kitchen cleanup, as my productivity in the kitchen took a nosedive.
Fortunately, the morning sickness has almost completely subsided in the second trimester and, aside from some back pain, I don’t have too much to complain about. I do get hangry, though, and have had a lot of crazy-vivid dreams about Zach being really mean to me!
What?! Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s experienced something like this because I’ll admit I’ve spent a few days upset at my actually amazing and very patient husband because of something I’ve dreamt. 🤷🏼♀️
Weird dreams and back aches aside, life right now is hectic and crazy and honestly a little stressful, but I am so, so grateful for all of it.

With just 17 weeks left, there’s still so much to do, and so much to buy! Cribs and adorable itty bitty baby clothes and diapers… I feel over my head reading reviews and my sister is pushing me to finish my registry! Please leave me comments with any and all of your pregnancy/newborn must-haves, I would appreciate it so much. (Like, do I really need a diaper genie? Is there a stroller out there that I could actually love?)
Oh, and are you wondering, boy or girl? We did find out, and I’ll share that with you in the near future, but for now I’m going to keep you guessing…
Thank you for sticking with me through a non-recipe post! If you’re looking for something sweet to snack on I did share a new video today for my Dirty Brownies (one of my early pregnancy cravings).

Congratulations! My own baby just turned sixteen this July – all I have to say is savour every moment, cause it goes by way too fast. Oh, and washcloths. For some reason, I remember needing baby washcloths galore. 😊 All the best!💕
Thank you so much, Vikki! 🙂
Congratulations! I didn’t use all of the gadgets. Bought yellow & green items for the baby’s room & clothing. Do not use the round pacifiers & bottle nipples. Only use Gerber’s Contour Shape (that’s shaped like a nipple). They are better for the shape of the baby’s mouth & better for their teeth. The bottles should be the bent shape, so they prevent less air bubbles. Get plenty of sleep before the baby arrives! Then, sleep when the baby sleeps!
Thank you so much, Susan! That is great advice. I am thoroughly enjoying my sleep right now. 🙂
Congratulations to you both!!! I pray for a healthy happy baby and pregnancy for you Sam!!! What a Blessing!!!
Thank you so much, Gloria! 🙂
Lol I was suspecting this as your face appeared fuller and you had a glow that I am all to familiar with! I thought camera position or new addition besides puppies! This is so exciting but be cautious with too much sugar at this time. Let others do most of the tasting. And most importanily enjoy your time as a couple in a new house before the little one arrives!
Thank you so much, Michelle! 🙂
Congratulations! No diaper genie, no wipe warmers…. you don’t need them. 😉
I did use a baby carrier all the time. Mine was a Beco Gemini.
Thank you so much, Deb! 🙂
Congrats so excited for you😁both
Thank you so much, Rebecca! 🙂
I wish you and your family all the best. May the Good Lord help you with an easy delivery. I wish your child a long, healthy and joyful life. God Bless you all.
Thank you so much, Pina! 🙂
Congratulations! You can never have enough little bath towels
Be sure and get something for an easy bath. A swing was a must for me!
Thank you so much, Gail! I will make sure to have some extra bath towels. 🙂
Congratulations!! Being a mom is the greatest thing (unril you become a geandmother bur thats a long way off for you😁). I have no useful advice, mine are 45 and 41. Just enjoy every minute because it goes by so fast.
Thank you so much, Carrie! 🙂
Hello! Just go with the flow. If you’re Hangry just be. Don’t worry about it. AND as far as the dreams go, I’ve have them too. It’ just that you are very vulnerable during pregnancy. Try to brush them off, but I know they are very very hard to let go of!!! 🤪 Wishing you all the joys that come with being expecting… Take a deep breath and Smile! Things get better when you smile! 💗 sending lots of love to you and yours!
Thank you very much, Cynthia! The dreams are so weird and they can be so upsetting. Ugh! Thank you for the advice. 🙂
Congratulations on your growing family. Blessings and prayers🌻❤
Thank you so much, Dorothy! 🙂
Congratulations! So happy for you and your husband!
Thank you so much, Mel! 🙂
Congratulations to you both. All the best and prayers to you too.
Cant wait to see if you are have a boy or girl. You take care
Ruth
Thank you so much, Ruth! 🙂
Congratulations!
Unfortunately I have no useful baby related advice to give, seeing that I’m a childless single guy that didn’t even have any significantly younger siblings to look after (I don’t think the 1 1/2 years younger brother counts).
But all the best wishes to you, your husband and all of your (soon to be even larger) family. Take care of yourself and never feel bad for missing an updated because of taking care of yourself or your child. Health and family come first, always.
Thank you so much! I have to remind myself to take a break every now and then. 🙂
Wow this is amazing, congrats! I’m so happy for both of you! 🥰
Thank you so much, Destiny! 🙂
